Mr. Caleb McDonald Biography

Ringgold High School Director of Bands

Caleb McDonald will be joining the proud legacy and tradition of excellence at Ringgold High School in his first year as the Director of the Tiger Band. Mr. McDonald has spent his prior teaching career at Coosa High School in Rome, GA. During his teaching career, his ensembles have scored Superior Ratings and earned prestigious accolades, including multiple top placements in Concert Band, Winterguard, and Marching Band, including a Grand Championship in 2023. 

 

Mr. McDonald was named the STAR teacher for Coosa High School in 2023, and was recognized by the Georgia State House of Representatives for this honor. 

 

During his collegiate career, Mr. McDonald studied under Dr. Kenneth G. Bodiford at Jacksonville State University to learn his craft. He performed with the JSU Marching Southerners around the country, and even around the world. Most notably at the 75th anniversary ceremony of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, and for the New Year World Peace Parade in the Vatican City, Italy. Mr. McDonald worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at JSU, conducting multiple ensembles, and coordinating the work of the University Bands program. 

 

A native of Rossville, GA, Mr. McDonald is married to his highschool sweetheart, Autumn. He is a proud brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, professional music fraternity. He enjoys performing with various brass bands and community ensembles on his primary instrument, the trumpet. He is looking forward to continuing the proud tradition of excellence that Ringgold High School is well known for, and challenging students to be their very best, every single day.
